These are some of the reviews our caravan and camping site has:
"Smashing, quiet site. Pleasant long distance walks, though unfortunately no decent pubs nearby. Owners are a terrific couple, helpful and friendly. We stayed there over the easter hols for £12 a night with electric. There is a shower/toilet at the end of the owners house, kept very clean. Would recommend. Though this is on the outskirts of the wolds it is only a short drive to quaint market towns and the rolling hills of the wolds.
As previous reviewers have said, Church Farm House is a very peaceful and relaxing rural campsite. The field is flat, sheltered and well maintained. The owners are on hand if needed and will give you a tour of the facilities when you arrive. There is a toilet and shower which was regularly cleaned.
There are footpaths next to the site which are useful to exercise dogs off site. We also visited Willingham Woods to the east of Market Rasen, which the hound loved! There is a bikers shack in the lay by before the car park that sells fantastic bacon butties & ice creams which was an expected bonus.
There are limited shops in the immediate vicinity so it may be worth stocking up before arriving on site. However, it is a short drive to Market Rasen where there are a range of shops/pubs/restaurants and Tesco.
We had a relaxing stay at Church Farm House and I'd happily return."
"We have just spent the Easter weekend at this site. Upon arrival we were welcomed by the lovely Lesley and shown where to pitch. A very lovely and friendly lady who told us if we wanted anything just to knock on the door. Whilst we were pitching our tent Richard arrived with 6 eggs for us. A very nice touch we thought. The eggs were delicious. We were given a guided tour around the farm and shown everything. Even though the weather wasn't too clever we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Had a trip to Market Rasen and Caister one day and to Lincoln another day. We were the only campers there so the fact that there was only the one toilet and shower didn't really matter. If you are looking for peace and quiet then this is the site for you. Perfect hosts as well. What more could you want. We cannot speak too highly of this place and will be visiting again real soon." |
"As already mentioned by the 2 previous reviewers this is a lovely peaceful site. Situated about 200 metres up a dead end narrow lane that ends at the farm there is no traffic to disturb the tranquillity and in fact about the only sound you'll hear apart from the birds is the chiming of the church clock and maybe a tractor or two. The site is quite small, mainly flat and apart from the shower/toilet facility (1 only) already mentioned there are no other amenities such as play areas for children. If you enjoy quiet camping in a lovely countryside setting where you can completely relax then do give this site a try. At present there are no EHU's but I believe there are plans to install some in 2012 which may detract from its charm somewhat but might encourage more visitors and so keep the site open. The nearest pub is about 2 miles away, The Bull at South Kelsey and there is a small village shop selling basic provisions in North Kelsey 4 miles away. Don't bother bringing eggs with you, buy them on site. They are truly free range and taste absolutely gorgeous. You'll see the chickens scratching about all over the place. Your hosts are very friendly and always willing to stop for a chat. I was quite impressed on my arrival when I was greeted by my first name. A nice touch. This site is in my Virtual Brochure and it should be in yours too. It really is too good to miss and I will certainly pay it many return visits."
"A lovely site on a working farm. The owners are very friendly and make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The camping field is mainly sheltered by hedges and trees, but in one corner there is an area with open views over the surrounding countryside. The toilet and shower is in the corner of the owners house but has its own access. The shower cubicle is in the same room as the toilet so own sanitation would be handy when the site is busy. I believe there are plans to convert an old building on the camping field into a toilet block. Was mostly very quiet and peaceful here, the only sounds being the birds and the church clock (not too loud), although there was a party going on at a hotel somewhere, not too close, on the Saturday night, but it was a hot night and the revellers were obviously outside. It did quieten down after an hour when they went inside, and the peace returned. There are public footpaths in both directions, although one was planted over with corn at the time of our visit, but we had a nice walk in the other direction via the churchyard. North Owersby is a small and quiet village, but close enough to Market Rasen for shopping if needed. We had intended to visit Hall Farm Park, just up the road, while we were here, but instead found ourselves staying around the site and village soaking up the sun. There was no need to go anywhere else when we were treated to a guided tour of the farm by the owners. A special place I will return to frequently, glad I found it."
"Lovely peaceful site set in beautiful surroundings. Lesley and Richard were so helpful and showed us around their small holding, which has a few ongoing projects. Facilities were few but clean and water hot. There are no shops or pubs in the village but we were prepared for that. The weather was brilliant and we chilled all day. Went to visit Tealby on Sunday a very pretty village. Travelling to the site on Saturday we called for coffee at Sunnyside Up Farm Shop. Church opposite the campsite very picturesque and an interesting walk available which we hope to attempt next time- it was just too hot for walking!"
"There are some amazing people out there who go out there way to help ya when you are truly in deep water and can't manage it on your own. After wks of being totally stuck and in need of help to even trace a radiator in the first place. Clueless me lol . It is now fitted thanks to a nice chappie. People like these guys are one in a million and I can't thank them enough for their kindness of helping out in a tricky situation. The owners of the campsite are amazing people and one of the nicest genuine people I have ever met. Thanks and look forward to visiting again when I finally leave just wanted to say a big thankyou from us." "Fabulous little place animal friendly and the owners are amazing people. Definitely recommend" "Just returned from an 11 day visit. The site is well cared for and the owners very helpful. Site was very busy when we arrived but two days later we had the field to ourselves. Toilet facilities were clean and shower hot. Unfortunately nearest pub was 6 miles away and most of the nearby roads were narrow lanes. If you are interested in RAF museum it's the place to be. If in the area again would definitely stay here." "As previous reviews have said, a fantastic, well maintained site with lovely friendly owners. Really enjoyed the peace and quiet, and the tour given by the owner was great!
